What is a pdf? PDF stands for Portable Document Format. It is the best method for sending print files to another computer for printing. A pdf can be created using Adobe’s Distiller or any one of several third party programs that are designed to create a pdf. Some programs have pdf creation tools built in. How long will it take to print my order? Normal turnaround is 5 working days. Depending on the type of job, some orders can be expedited with a rush service. It’s best to contact us if you have a deadline to ensure that your job is completed and delivered on time. What is rgb color? RGB is a color model that uses red, green and blue light to produce the colors that you see on your computer monitor and television. Because this model uses what is referred to as an additive color model it cannot be used for putting ink on paper. What is CMYK color? CMYK is a color model that is used to produce full color printing. It uses four different inks (cyan, magenta, yellow and black) to produce the appearance of full color. What is a spot color? A spot color is an ink that is specifically mixed to make just one color such as bright red, or blue. There is an industry standard for mixing these colors that is referred to as Pantone© colors. Spot colors are very popular for printing letterheads, brochures and business cards with just 1 or 2 colors. Why does my brochure need to be converted if I used Microsoft Word to create my brochure and I created a print ready pdf just like I should have? Unfortunately Word is not able to create a document that contains cmyk colors or spot colors. Word will always create a document that uses rgb colors. We can convert your pdf to cmyk, but there will be color shifts that may or may not be acceptable. I don’t know anything about layout, graphics or creating pdf’s, can you help? Yes! North Country Printing & Graphics can do all the work for you and send you a proof prior to printing. You just need to provide the information for your printed piece and we’ll be happy to provide a layout. What format should I save my address list in for mailing? We can import your list into our mailing software from any one of several file types. The most commonly used format is Excel. You can also use csv, txt or dbase. Make sure that you have separate fields for First Name, Last Name, Address, City, State and Zip. What are your hours?
